31.01.2010 - Eastroad who moved to London some three years back have been confirmed to play at Glastonbury for the third consecutive year. The guys are building up something of a following on the festival circuit, as they frequently play not only Glasto, but Guildfest and StrummerCamp to name a few. The band will be making a rare trip up to Lincoln in March, to play the Duke Of Wellington (12th March). Also on the bill are The Band From County Hell (playing an acoustic set) plus from the States, Rodney Brannigan. Brannigan is also playing Glastonbury and is something of a guitarist's guitarist, noted for playing two acoustics simultaneously. Definitely worth checking out. Tickets are £5.00 on the door.

30.01.2010 - The Lounge Crusade have announced a sting of gigs coming up through till April. Feb 4th they play at Dublin Castle, Camden, The Vintage Rock Bar in Doncaster (6th Feb). Back to Lincoln for The Mezz Bar (Feb 7th). Later in the month they go to Nottingham to play The Maze (24th Feb) and in March they are in the Finals of the Regional Live & Unsigned competition at Sheffield's City Hall. 25.01.2010 - A number of people have come together to put on a gig in support of Rock Against Racism. The event is to be held towards the end of March/early April. The organisers are looking for local bands who would like to donate their time and play for free at the event. The venue is still to be confirmed but last year's event at The Duke Of Wellington was successful. Any bands wanting to take part should contact Megan or go to the Facebook Group.

25.01.2010 - Jean Dench, owner of Metheringham Music Factory has announced that she is selling up. Jean, who has been ruuning the place single-handedly for tha past eight years said:
"I have decided to sell up here – LOCK, STOCK AND STEAMING BARREL. I`m not giving up my interest in music but need to be freer for other stuff – like my family and getting out to music venues to see bands etc. and have more of a social life.
I expect to be operating down here until the very last second.
Anyone seriously interested in taking over the reigns of this enterprise, should get in touch. I`ll be putting it in the hands of an agent this week."
I know a number of bands that rehearse there will be gutted. And I'm sure that everyone who knows Jean (and there can't be many who don't) will join me in wishing her well in the future.

24.01.2010 - Dizzee Rascal's rescheduled gig at The Engine Shed (25th Feb) is already sold out, as is the Editors gig on 6th March. Other live events coming up at Lincoln's largest venue include Ocean Colour Scene (2nd March) and The Courteemers (15th March). Book on line at www.engineshed.co.uk

07.01.2010 - The Horse and Groom is just one venue with a couple of gigs coming up this month. Tall Ships headline on Friday 15th, with a welcome return of Dollymops in support. Fri 22nd sees Switzerland headling with three supports and Wednesday 27th La Faro take the top spot. Also on 27th over at Rock Haven Murder Charge add live music to the Rob Zombie promo night.
