28.06.09 Good news from Steve/Bivouac
"The Bivouac has a new home, and joins forces with Yo Yo and SCY
(formerly The Cell) with regular Saturday night shows.
The Bivouac is alive and well. We have agreed to relocate and start
again with a fresh program of gigs at our new home, downstairs at SCY
(formerly The Cell) in the centre of Lincoln.
We will be hosting our shows regularly on a new day, Saturdays 7pm
till 10pm. All shows remain 16+ (with ID).
All our previous booked shows, that were to happen at The Millers
Arms, will be rescheduled asap to fit the new regular Saturday slots
at SCY.
To add to the mix, the ever popular Yo Yo has also moved from Scream
to Scy (formerly The Cell), and The Bivouac will pass on the baton
every Saturday night to them at 10.30pm till the early hours of
Sunday morning.

27.06.09 The Silver Lakes return t the live arena on Sunday 27th July. After nearly a year's hiatus, the band return with new material. They will be playing at the New Life Centre supporting Kevin Max. Doors open at 7.00pm

27.06.09 Dawn at Aurora Promotions has a full programme to take gig goers through the summer. Starting om 11th July with an indie night, and then a punk night on 25th followed by two rock nights in August (22nd and 29th). All events take place at The Duke Of Wellington

21.06.09 Recruit release their debut album in July. The album will be released at a launch party at The Mezz Bar, on the Uni campus on July 31st. Special guests for the event are to be announced soon.

21.06.09 Leadenham Live is a fundraising music event which donates all monies raised to St Barnabas Hospice, Lincoln and the local school Leadenham C of E. It's now in it's 4th year and up to date has raised around £8000. This years event will take place on Sat 26th Sept and bands so far lined up to play include The Eccentrics, Seventy7even and Guerilla Radio. Further details on Facebook

21.06.09 Next weekend (27th June) Rogues in Horncastle host a mini fest. Spagetti Bomb headline. Liberty Strike and Stuff n Junk Inc are also on the bill with more to be announced. Its £5.00 on the door and starts at 1.00pm

17.06.09 Due to the closure of The Miller's Arms all Bivouac and Bivouac/Intergenre gigs have been postponed until a new venue is found.

17.06.09 A late gig announced for this Saturday (20th June) at the Horse & Groom. Red Chapter headline with support from The Access, Tiger Warsaw and Sealord. It all kicks off around 7.30 and its free entry

18.06.09 Another late gig announced - at Rock Haven tomorrow (Friday 19th June). The Eccentrics headline and support comes from One Strike Left and The Modes. Admission is free

15.06.09 GroomFest is only just over a month away. This year's event is in a marquee and so far features 24 acts (so far) over the course of the two days (Sat 11 and Sun 12 July). Tickets are £8.50 per day or £15 for the weekend.

15.06.09 Studentz Rock 6 takes place at the Drill Hall tomorrow night (15th June). Featuring a large number of bands playing original and covers and taking in a host of genres. Entry is £3.00

14.06.09 June 30th (Tues) sees Kind host an acoustic evening and BBQ. Artists appearing are Sam Cook-Bad Ideas,
Robbo,
Sammi Ingamells,
Bennantylad,
Chris Coleshaw and
Ben Atkins. It kicks off around 8.30pm.

12.06.09 Aurora Promotions' Midsummer Festival is seemingly getting bigger by the day. Tripswitch will now be playing and more acoustic acts have been added to an already comprehensive bill. The event which runs over Sat and Sun 20-21st June is expected to attract large numbers. Tickets are £6.00 per day or £9.00 for the weekend

12.06.09 Lincoln Pride 2009 will be Lincoln’s first stand alone Pride event, which will run completely independent of any other event. The event will run on Sat 22nd August at The Engine. Bands/artists are wanted to play the event which is expected to attract audiences of between 3000 and 5000 throughout the day. "Hi my name is Pip. I have been doing band nights with my friend Jamie from Tripswitch at his club in Horncastle.
I am looking at doing a festival next year, at a location near Horncasle.We are lookin to cater for 6000 people.We have some big names already, Babar Luck, from King Prawn has confirmed and we are talking to Sonic Boom Six, Random Hand and Mouthwash.
It will be over august bank holiday. looking at 150 to 200 bands.
If your band would like to play, we are holding audittion nights at Rogues in Horncastle.

06.06.09 Ewan Hughes Promotions are putting on a gig at the Mezz Bar on the university campus on June 12th. All proceeds will go to charities (The Nomad Trust and St Barnabas Hospice), and they decided to put on the event to get a couple of bands from Nottingham they like down here in Lincoln, as well as the always excellent Elliott Morris to open and 'Discos and Casinos' from Boston. Entry is £3 (£2 NUS) and doors open at 7.30

03.06.09 Dirty as Muck have their FINAL EVER gig at The Drill Hall in Lincoln on Tuesday 16th June at Student Rocks VI. We would like to thank everyone who supported us over the last two years, especially people like Dave Mallett, Steve Hawkins and Dawn Stephenson. We have one last gig at Lincoln College's final and biggest performance of the year at the Drill Hall. The night will include a phenomenal Prince band, The Zeph Brown Experience [Crystal Zeph] and many many other superb acts. The tickets can be brought online from The Drill Hall homepage or in person at the venue.

03.06.09 On Saturday 11th July 2009,
Coteland’s School, Ruskington will be
having a Summer Fair.
Central to the fair will be a
‘Battle of the Bands’
competition for students in full time education
between the ages of 5 and 19. A band
can be solo, duo, trio, acoustic, DJ or the
conventional format in any form of music.
There will be three levels, novice, intermediate
and Experienced for both Primary and
Secondary students.
Heats will be held in June.
